The UMass Entrepreneurship Commons

a building at UMass Lowell

This website has been prepared as part of the UMass Entrepreneurship Commons, a systemwide program aimed at facilitating the commercialization of University research and inventions through start-up formation. The Commons fosters participation and sharing of resources pertaining to entrepreneurial activities and endeavors for UMass faculty, researchers and students.  Download this PowerPoint presentation to understand more about the proposed UMass Entrepreneurial Commons.

The information presented on this website is designed to assist faculty and students with understanding the basic steps inventors will take going from idea to launch – whether you are thinking of building a new start-up or licensing your technology to an existing company.

Whether you’re a start-up based on the University’s  intellectual property or not, this site is designed to assist with your basic understanding of this undertaking.

On our resources page, you’ll find a listing of selected resources for entrepreneurs – both system wide and at the five individual campuses – to assist with these efforts.
